Netgear Orbi is a Wi-Fi Mesh system that will take over the user’s Wi-Fi and provide an improved and superior version of the traditional Wi-Fi network.

1.Power LED
- The power light is located above the power button on the rear panel.
- The light turns solid green, which means that the device is on.
- The light turns solid orange, the router or satellite will restart.
- The LED flashes orange, the Wi-Fi Mesh system resets to the factory default settings.
- The LED flashes red, the firmware is corrupt.
- When it is off: no power is supplied.
2. LED router ring
- The LED ring is located on the top.
- Solid white – The router is starting up.
- When it is off: the router has finished booting and is operating normally.
- Flashing white – The router is reset to factory settings.
- Flashing amber – Router cannot connect to the Internet
- Flashing blue and magenta. Your Internet connection is blocked because you have configured the measurement of Internet traffic and reached the maximum authorized amount of Internet traffic.

3. Satellite ring
- The LED ring is located on the top.
- Fixed target: the satellite starts.
- When it is off: the satellite has finished starting up and is operating normally.
- Blue for 10 seconds: the connection between the router and the satellite is good.
- Orange for 10 seconds: the connection between the router and the satellite is regular.
- Flashing magenta – The satellite is not connected to the router.
Magenta for 10 seconds: the satellite cannot obtain an IP address from the router. Router ring and satellite ring during synchronization The ring LEDs are on the top.
Flashing white: the Synchronize button has been pressed.
Blue for 3 seconds: the synchronization between the router and the satellite was successful.
- Magenta for 3 seconds: the router and the satellite were not synchronized.
Connect the Netgear Orbi to your router:

- Unplug the modem from its power source, but leave it connected to the wall outlet for Internet service. Now connect the modem to the router’s WAN port with an Ethernet cable.
- Connect the router’s power adapter to the power source and turn it on.
- If the power light does not come on, press the power button on the back panel of the router.
- Now place the satellite where you deem it necessary or as desired by the user.
- For ideal coverage, the user can place the satellite in the center of the house to obtain the best coverage.
- Connect the satellite to a power source. If the power light on the back of the satellite does not light, press the power button.
- Wait until the LED on the satellite ring lights up solid white, then press white, then press magenta. The LED on the satellite ring may pulsate magenta for one minute while the satellite is trying to synchronize with the Orbi router.
- If you see that the LED ring on the satellite is still emitting a magenta tone after one minute, try moving the satellite closer to the router. Press the Sync button on the back of the router and the back of the satellite simultaneously.

Wired connection
- You can connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable and join the router’s local area network (LAN).
- Now you have to connect your laptop or mobile device with Ethernet cable to access Orbi network
- Make sure the router has power (its power LED is on).
- Connect your laptop or computer with etherenet port with etherenet cable.
- Connect yor laptop device with Ethernet cable to port
- Make connection other end of the etherenet cable with the etherenet port

- Make sure that your device should be connected with LAN cable. . A message may appear on your computer screen notifying you that an Ethernet cable is connected.
WIFI connection
- To find and select the Wi-Fi network:
- Make sure the router or satellite has power (its power light is on).
- On your Wi-Fi enabled computer or mobile device, search for and select the Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that wi-fi network name of Orbi satellite and the orbi router should be the same.
Note: If you purchased the router and the satellite separately, their default Wi-Fi network names are different.
- Join the Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password. The password is on the router label.
- Your Wi-Fi enabled computer or mobile device connects to the Wi-Fi network.
Connect to your router and add satellites to your network
You can use the router’s web interface to add a satellite to your network OR
- To add a satellite to your Orbi network using a router web interface:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your Orbi network.
- Enter orbilogin.com. A login window opens.
- Enter the router administrator username and password. Username is admin. The default password is password. Username and password are case-sensitive.
- The administrator will display the login page.
- Choose Add Orbi Satellite. The Place Your Satellite page displays.
- Follow the instructions of where to place your satellite in your home.
- Connect the satellite to a power source.
- If the power LED behind the satellite does not light up, press the power on / off button.
- Click on the Next button.
Wait approximately two minutes for the satellite ring from LED to white
- Press the sync button on the satellite.
- The satellite ring turns the LED pulses white.
- Click the Sync button in the router web interface. The router attempts to sync with the satellite.
The satellite ring will stop one of the LED colors for about three minutes and then stop:
- The Blue – Orbi router and satellite were successfully synced, and the relationship between the router and the satellite is good.
- Amber. The Orbi router and satellite were successfully synced, and the relationship between the router and the satellite is reasonable. Consider moving closer to the ORB router.
- Magenta. Orbi router and satellite failed to sync. Move the satellite closer to the router and try again.
